Power and Energy Systems [Power Systems]

Engineers working in this discipline apply knowledge and capabilities that are involved in the design, development, test, and evaluation of hardware for power generation, storage, conditioning and distribution for all vehicles, spacecraft, and experiments. Inherent within this area is a broad knowledge of power sources and technologies and the ability to develop power architectures and integrate all elements into networked systems tailored to their specific environments and also includes development, test and evaluation of the impact of environments and material on power systems.
