High School Aerospace Scholars (HAS)
The Johnson Space Center Aerospace Scholars program is a year-long, web-based educational experience affording over 300 high school students the opportunity to interact with engineers and scientists at the NASA Johnson Space Center. The learning experience focuses on six one-week residential camps where selected students are encouraged to study math, science, engineering, or computer science while interacting with mentors, teachers, scientists, and engineers.
Students from across the state of Texas are selected to participate by their state legislator through a competitive process.
Eligibility Requirements
- A U.S. citizen
- A Texas resident
- Currently in junior year of high school
- Interest in and have an aptitude for math, science, engineering, or computer science
- Committed to a one-year relationship with JSC, including a designated six-day residential experience during the summer
- Access to the Internet (home, school, or public library) and e-mail
