CEP Short-Term Appointments (CSA)
CEP Short-Term Appointments (CSA) address the needs of multiple JSC organizations to engage students through temporary CEP appointments. Students work 15-weeks during the spring and fall semesters or 10-weeks during the summer. Students are paired with a JSC Mentor, work on-site, and complete technical assignments.
Eligibility Requirements
- Possess United States citizenship.
- Able to pass a government background screening investigation.
- Maintain a 3.0 grade point average.
- Provide current report card or transcripts.
- Be at least 16 years of age.
- Be available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week at JSC.
Students should be cognizant that receipt of the CSA Interns stipend award payment may disqualify them from certain scholarships, internships, or grants. Students are required to confirm eligibility requirements if applicable prior to applying to the CSA program.
In addition to CEP program requirements, CSA students must also:
- Be enrolled full-time at their respective high school, college, or university.
- High School students are not eligible during spring and fall semesters.
- Graduate students must be enrolled in a graduate degree program.
- Be available to work onsite at JSC for 10 weeks in summer semester and 15 weeks in spring and fall semesters. Exceptions must be acceptable to the sponsoring organization and requests for appointments of a shorter duration cannot be accommodated.
- College and University students must be pursuing degrees that align with career-related hands-on work that directly benefits NASA/JSC.
- CEP students participating in the CEP for more than one year are not eligible to participate in a CEP Short-term Assignment.
