Career Exploration Program (CEP) - College Students
The Career Exploration Program college program offers college students the opportunity to receive on-the-job training and exposure to a variety of NASA career fields. The program allows students to discover career choices that will benefit NASA’s workforce of tomorrow.
Students are recruited from local accredited degree granting college job placement offices. Students work 20 hours a week at the Johnson Space Center while pursuing a four-year degree at a local community college or university. To accommodate college classes, students may work a flex-time schedule during standard JSC working hours. Participant pay scale is based on accumulated college credit hours.
Students are given a one-year appointment with a one-year option for extension based on performance and organizational need. Students will rotate to a different organization at the end of the program year. Each student will be responsible for coordinating their own assignments for the second program year of their assignment.
Students are recruited from local accredited degree granting college job placement offices. The online application system is open year-round in order to maintain an eligible pool of applicants to fill JSC organizational requests.
Eligibility Requirements
- Possess United States citizenship.
- Be enrolled full-time (minimum 12 hours in a degree granting program) at a local community college or university.
- Graduate students must be enrolled in a graduate degree program.
- Maintain a 3.0 grade point average.
- Be at least 17 years of age.
- Be available to work 20 hours per week at JSC.
