CEP Students selected for NASA Student Ambassadors Program

2010 AmbassadorsCongratulations to Career Exploration Program (CEP) students Joseph Shoer, Sarah Sloterdijk, Julio Villalta, and Chelsea Rouen, 2010 NASA Student Ambassadors!   NASA selected 105 outstanding students from 33 states and 81 universities nationwide to engage in space science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) research and opportunities through the NASA Student Ambassadors Program.  Ambassadors will collaborate to help inspire future interns, will represent NASA at a variety of venues, and will spread the word about STEM education and career opportunities.

CEP students Sarah Sloterdijk, Julio Villalta, and Chelsea Rouen work part time at JSC through the CEP College program and attend college full-time at the University of Houston.  Cornell University Ph.D. student Joseph Shoer worked in the Loads and Structural Dynamics Branch as a CEP Short-term Assignment intern during the summer 2009, where he developed a dynamic model of the chariot suspension system.  All four students were nominated for NASA Student Ambassadors by their program manager and were selected by NASA based on their contributions to space research and commitment to serving the space community.
